Telia Norge AS and Telenor Norge AS are winners in the Norwegian 900 MHz auction

The Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) has assigned spectrum in the 900 MHz band by auction. Telia Norge AS and Telenor Norge AS won the vacant spectrum and the total revenue amounts to NOK 790 236 240.

The auction of 2 x 20 MHz (divided into four lots) in the 900 MHz band started 23 May 2017 and ended 29 May 2017, after 29 rounds of bidding. The auction was conducted as a simultaneous multiple round ascending auction (SMRA). The starting price for each block was NOK 140 000 000. There were three participants in the auction.

Telia Norge AS and Telenor Norge AS won two blocks each in the auction. Telia Norge AS pays NOK 393 988 120 and Telenor Norge AS pays NOK 396 248 120.

Licensees in the 900 MHz band can negotiate the final frequency allocation in the band (actual placement of the blocks in the band). The negotiation phase will last up to four weeks.
