Nkom has agreed an MoU with the Thai authorities

For the first time the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a foreign authority.

The MoU with the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) was signed in Bangkok on August 7th, and it includes several of the main tasks within Nkom’s responsibility; Frequency management, communications markets regulation, promotion of technical innovation and international cooperation.

 - "Telenor is a significant provider of electronic communications in both Thailand and Norway, and this is one of the reasons why NBTC wanted an agreement with Nkom", says Director General Torstein Olsen in Nkom.

The cooperation can be carried out through e.g. exchange of information and exchange of experts, bilateral consultations and joint working groups.

The agreement is in force for a period of two years and will automatically be renewed unless one of the parties request changes.
