Broadband in Norway 2014

Almost 1.8 million households has access to high speed broadband, while 67 percent subscribes to a high speed broadband service. The number of fibre accesses is strongly increasing. However, 40 percent of the households that have access to fibre technology does not subscribe.

This is shown in the report “Broadband in Norway 2014”, that was published by Nkom (former NPT) in October 2014. The report is based on figures from the coverage reports by Nexia, Nkom statistics and the broadband subscribers own speed measurements via the broadband speedometer www.nettfart.no. The report also describes the mobile broadband coverage in Norway based on 3G and 4G. The estimates are based on data from all base stations in Norway as at the end of the first half of 2014.
