The purpose of registration is, among other things, to facilitate the supervision of imports and sales of radio, telecommunications terminal and network equipment and to ensure that suppliers, retailers and users receive necessary information.
Business enterprise manufacturing/importing and distributing radio, telecommunications terminal and network equipment must be registered as supplier.
Business enterprise distributing radio equipment that requires a frequency licence must be registered as retailer.
Business enterprise that is registered as supplier is not required to register as retailer.
When registering, a separate registration form must be used.
The registration must contain the following information:
- name of the business enterprise
- email address
- telephone number
- organisation number
- contact person
Registration is linked to the organisation number and cannot be transferred.
If supplier or retailer does not have authorisation to perform installation and maintenance of electronic communications networks (ecom networks authorisation), authorised ecom networks installation contractor must be used for installation and maintenance of the equipment, cf. Section 3 of Regulations no. 1206 of 7 December 2011 on authorisation for installation contractors performing installation and maintenance of electronic communications networks (Authorisation Regulations). No ecom networks authorisation is required when all installation material and equipment in the network is specifically produced to be installed by people without specialist expertise.
Annual administrative charges must be paid for registration, cf. the Regulations relating to administrative charges payable to the Norwegian Communications Authority.
