Digital terrestrial network in Norway

In 2006 NTV was awarded a licence for the operation of a digital wireless terrestrial transmitter network for broadcasting (digital terrestrial network). The frequency licence grants rights to use the 470-790 MHz frequency band for DTT technology.

NTV has a licence to use the digital terrestrial network until 2021. The digital terrestrial network was introduced area for area from September 2007 until nationwide coverage was achieved in December 2008. Analogue broadcasting on the same frequency band was phased out in the period from 2008-2009.

A coverage map and more information concerning the digital terrestrial network can be found at ntv.no.

The location of transmitters that are used on the digital terrestrial network can be viewed at Finnsenderen.no.
