Reporting number use to Nkom

In accordance with Section 23 of the Regulation of 16 February 2004 on Numbering Resources for Electronic Communications Networks and Services (Numbering Regulation), the providers of electronic communications networks and services who have been granted authorisation for the use of 8-digit number series by Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) shall by 1 February each year submit a report containing an overview of the use made of the number series.

Nkom requires information on number use in order to be able to perform the reliable and efficient management of the numbering resources in both the short and long term.

What the report should specifically contain is stipulated in the Numbering Regulation, Section 23, Paragraph 2, Letters a-h. Overviews of the use of allocated mobile number series must be broken down into blocks of 10,000. For geographic numbers and location-independent numbers, reports must be for blocks of 1,000 and 100 respectively.
